Nonvisual Navigation

In collaboration with the Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors (BAADS), we are developing a system to help visually impaired and blind sailors find their way to the South Beach Harbor in San Francisco and navigate between key locations of the harbor independently. We are currently in the process of doing user research to better understand the navigational challenges faced by the blind community in partnership with Stanford's CS+Social Good and UC Berkeley's Fung Fellows. By finding a solution for sailors from BAADS, we aim to develop a solution that can be expanded to other areas of San Francisco.
